Community Emergency Management Coordinator , " CEMC "

All municipalities are required to have an appointed Community Emergency Management Coordinator. In Augusta Township we call the position "The Emergency Planner" . Lindsay Penney has agreed to assist us with our Emergency Planning on a part time basis. Lindsay has 34 years of experience in the Volunteer Fire Service. He is a retired Deputy Fire Chief. He has also spent time working with the Provincial Forest Fire Service and Environmental Protection.

The result has been a lot of time around "Emergency Situations".

In Emergency Preparedness responsibilities cannot be isolated in one person. We are always considering "backups" ... "alternates". In this Municipality our Alternate CEMC is :

Richard carries with him a wealth of knowledge regarding Municipal Government at the Township and County level. He has been trained and certified , by EMO Ontario , to fulfill this position.
