BUSINESS

Augusta Township is strategically located in eastern Ontario along the shores of the St. Lawrence River. With Highway 401 traversing our southern edge, we’re within easy driving distance to Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston. Local communities just minutes away include Prescott, Brockville and Kemptville.

Agri-business and manufacturing continues to thrive in Augusta. An increasing number of small businesses are calling Augusta Township home. Entrepreneurs in a number of business sectors are drawn to the quiet country ambiance of our area, while being located in close proximity to larger centres.


Infrastructure
Augusta township is located within easy travelling distance to the Town of Prescott , the City of Brockville , Kingston , and Ottawa . Our bordering municipalities are Elizabethtown/Kitley, Edwardsburg/Cardinal, Merrickville/Wolford, and North Grenville.

Augusta Township has two major highways for travellers preference. Hwy #2, a scenic two lane highway running east/west parallel with the St. Lawrence River, affords a great sightseeing experience on the way to the famous Thousand Islands a short distance to the west. The other is the east/west (Montreal/Toronto) four lane commuter route Hwy 401, McDonald Cartier, with connections to Hwy 416 (Veterans Memorial) north to Ottawa , and Hwy #81 south to the United States .

Augusta Township lies a short distance from two International Bridges that cross into the United States .

The main CNR rail line also passes through Augusta , with sidings at some of our industrial businesses, and in Brockville . The nearest VIA passenger facility is located in Brockville .

Bus service with Coach Canada is available in Brockville .

The St. Lawrence River is on our doorstep, with the " Seaway Port ' of Prescott handling grain, road salt, and aggregate just down the road east of Prescott minitues away. There is also a marina in the town of Prescott , and other neighboring communities.

The Brockville Regional Tackaberry Municipal Airport north of the Brockville city limits is just a 20 minute drive away. We are within driving distance to three International airports; located one hour away in Ottawa , two hours from Montreal , and 3.5 hours from Toronto .
